Fight

What are you willing to do to lose weight and keep it off?  You're going to have to fight for it.  There are many forces at work to keep you stuck in your old habits.  Many ways you can lose your will to battle on.  Today you will face the enemy - how will you handle it?

Here's an idea - meet the enemy on your terms.  Don't invite trouble into your home.  Gather your allies around you.  Fruit, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, and low fat dairy.  Peel them, slice them, grill them - prepare them for battle!  When hunger strikes you'll be ready!

My battle plan today?  I'll only eat from a plate while sitting at a table.  Will it take guts and determination? Yes indeed - but I'm ready for the fight!  How about you?

  1. That exercise of imagining my ideal identity for 30 seconds at meeting last week was a great way for me to hone in on what I really wanted out of my weight loss journey. I've learned over the last few months that I need to "talk to myself more" and really work out why I'm eating what I'm eating. This weekend was a success. I ate well, keeping in mind that "This is what that girl in my future will be eating." The girl being the "ME" that I imagined for 30 seconds on Saturday. It works!

  2. Oh, Lanette. For a day or so there, I gave up on my fight. I know in my head I can do this, but sometimes my heart tells me otherwise. And while it can be easier to lose weight when you have a partner doing it as well, sometimes it can be discouraging. My husband continues to drop the weight and I have hit a plateau. However, I spent part of yesterday reading your blogs and have a renewed faith in myself. I am starting over today - pulled out the week long meal plan from the getting started book and am starting over because I can fight my weight battle! Thank you for always being an inspiration!
